Charles stands by the ramp, a big smile over his face and lighting up his deep brown eyes. He surveys the many people boarding the ship and even more watching on the sidelines. Today was a big day indeed, for London, for his family, for him. Of course, working on the ship wasnt the most respectable way to get onboard, but there was no other way. And so he was clad in the crisp new clothes of a crew member. At the moment, he was helping the other passengers onboard. He greets them with a wide smile and a friendly hello, making sure there were no problems and everyone kept the peace. He scans the croud and spots Ruth a bit away.
Ruth, eyes brimming with tears, held her father tightly as she said her final goodbyes. Finally letting him go, she turns to her mother and repeats the action. The ship gives off a loud blare and Ruth turns to face both parents, and her mother smothes down her freshly cleaned dress. "Go now, before they leave you behind" her father says, placing a hand on her waist and pushing slightly toward the ship. Ruth nods and turns away from her parents, taking the hand of Henry and starting toward her new life.
Henry looks back at his granparents and waves enthustiasticly, his little eyes shining with excitement. He takes hold of his mother's hand and follows her, gazing up at the ship towering above him. They reach the ramp and he spots his father a bit away. He grins and shifts the pack resting on his back to a more comfortable position, waving to his father as they pass and board the boat.
